[15 Feb 2007|10:12am] As a final celebration of its 25th season, ENTABLADO, the only socially-oriented theater group in the Ateneo, presents Sandaang Panaginip this February 2007. Written by Rene O. Villanueva, a critically acclaimed and multi-awarded author, Sandaang Panaginip will make the audiences roll with laughter and move to tears. First staged in 1981 and commissioned by the Cultural Center of the Philippines. It is an allegory to the infamous Marcoses by incorporating it with the traditions of the komedya, a theater form in the Philippines. Commonly known as the moro-moro, it is usually about the fight between good and evil, represented by Christian and Moores respectively, wherein the good prevails. Staging this theater form is a first in the Ateneo. Under the direction of Jerry Respeto, Sandaang Panaginip showcases for Philippine theater a wonderful fusion of tradition, pop culture and technology. Traditional talon merges with komiks, graphics and video walls; San Dionisio’s batalla, curacha and presentacion would be integrated with acrobatics, modern dance and movement, and martial arts; comedia de capa y espada meets clever play of lights, music and special effects. Sandaang Panaginip will kick off on February 13 to February 24 from 7pm to 9pm at the Cervini Field, Ateneo De Manila University. Everyone is invited to come and see this spectacle from Entablado. HAHAHAHA!:D I've been planning this whole toy the whole day and I can't even figure out how to put it up on my body. I have the spikes and the ball, but to set it all up...it's just hard.
